Privacy Statement
I don’t collect your personal data, I don’t want your personal data, and I don’t store your personal data. This website is a simple portfolio. You’re just here to read.
1. What I collect — nothing
This website has no contact forms that store submissions, no comment section, no newsletter signup, no user accounts, and no login functionality. I do not receive, store, or process any personal information about you.
2. Cookies…?
I personally do not place any tracking cookies on your device. However, this website may use Google Analytics to understand basic, anonymous traffic patterns — things like how many people visit, which pages are popular, and which country visitors come from. This helps me improve the site.
When you first landed on my site, you were presented with a cookie notice, this is mandatory by EU law and will store no personal data, asides from what is tracked by aforementioned analytics tools. The cookie notice serves as your consent to have your, anonymous, activity data on my website shared with Google analytics for pattern analysis and target audience research
Google Analytics works by placing a cookie on your browser. This is Google’s cookie, not mine, you merely consented to this by means of my Cookie notice. Google collects and processes this data according to their own privacy policy. I only see aggregated, anonymous statistics — not anything about you individually.
If you prefer not to be tracked by Google Analytics at all, you can:
- Install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on
- Use a browser extension that blocks analytics scripts (such as uBlock Origin)
- Enable “Do Not Track” in your browser settings
3. Third-party tracking…why is this even a thing?
The internet is full of trackers that operate independently of individual website owners. When you browse the web, companies like Google, Meta (Facebook), and others may track your activity across websites through their own cookies, browser fingerprinting, or embedded content — regardless of whether this website does anything.
I have no control over what those companies do, and this privacy statement covers only what happens on itisleon.nl. If you want to understand how those companies use your data, you’ll need to review their respective privacy policies.
4. Hosting
This website is hosted by a third-party hosting provider, Strato. Like any web server, it may log basic technical data such as IP addresses and request timestamps for operational and security purposes. I do not actively use or analyse this data, and it is subject to the hosting provider’s own data retention policies.
5. Your rights (GDPR) are sacred
You are based in or visiting from the EU/EEA, and the server for this site sits in the EU, and my business registration is in the EU, so the EU-set GDPR applies. Since I don’t collect or hold personal data about you, there is nothing for me to provide, correct, or delete. If you have any questions or concerns, you’re still welcome to contact me.
